This is a scope trace of an SP10mk2 motor BEMF
One of my SP10mk2's came from an Aussie outback radio station and was obviously not well maintained as the bearing was badly damaged. The sleeve and spindle are scored beyond repair.
Following on from my modified motor I decided to turn this motor into an inverted bearing with a POM/AL/POM platter.
Inside of the modified SP10mk2 motor showing the new 12mm tool steel spindle and the sleeves in the bottom of the rotor.
With the rotor installed on the motor. The cap sitting proud on top is the thrust pad. I made the rotor top from aluminium out of my parts bin and it was slightly too short to recess the pad carrier.
The new 70mm thick platter sitting on the motor. 30mm POM 40mm 6061 aluminium.
